Description

Learning to arrange songs for the banjo in “Scruggs Style” is both a science and an art, and takes a lot of study and analysis of bluegrass arrangements to master the skill. This lesson will give you just that, with both the basic melodies and full Scruggs arrangements for three popular songs: Dark Hollow, Darling Cory and Pig in a Pen. You will get TAB and notation for the pure melody, and then fully arranged Scruggs Style breaks as well. Also of course we provide audio tracks of the breaks as well so you can hear how they are supposed to sound. First, pick through and understand the melodies, and then compare with the Scruggs arrangements and take notes on exactly what was added, and then finally get some blank TAB and come up with your own versions of the tunes using what you’ve learned!
